Minnesota’s miles of paved trails are a cyclist’s dream. Many bike trails are along former railroad beds, offering secluded, scenic biking. Several are part of the Minnesota State Trails system, while other trails and routes are regional or metropolitan. Some of the longest paved trails include the Root River, Sakatah Singing Hills, Central Lakes, Lake Wobegon, Heartland, Paul Bunyan and Mesabi. Those who dig the challenge of spinning over rugged hillsides will find a bounty of mountain bike trails.
